Lengo la makala hii ni kuchanganua mitindo ya mawasiliano inayotumiwa na manahodha wa kipindi cha Patanisho cha Redio Jambo nchini Kenya. Kipindi cha Patanisho cha Redio Jambo ni mojawapo ya vipindi vya redio vinavyoendeleza majukumu yake kama asasi inayowaunganisha wasikilizaji kupitia kwa mijadala inayohusu masuala ya kijamii. Utafiti huu umevutiwa na diskosi za migogoro ya kifamilia zinazoendeshwa na manahodha wa kipindi cha Patanisho, Redio Jambo.Watafiti wa makala hii walipania kuchunguza jinsi manahodha wa kipindi hiki wanavyotumia mitindo ya mawasiliano ili kuvutia umakinifu wa wasikilizaji. Utafiti ulifanywa kwenye mtandao wa Youtube wa idhaa ya Redio Jambo. Muundo wa utafiti ni wa kimaelezo. Kikundi lengwa cha utafiti ni kipindi cha Patanisho, Redio Jambo. Sampuli za utafiti ziliteuliwa kimaksudi. Jumla ya vipindi 60 vya Patanisho vilivyopeperushwa hewani kati ya miezi ya Januari na Aprili 2023 katika Redio Jambo na kurekodiwa kwenye Youtube vilisikilizwa na watafiti na vipindi 10 vikateuliwa kimaksudi kwa misingi ya mitindo ya mawasiliano iliyomo. Mtafiti alikusanya data kwa kusikiliza na kunakili. Vifaa vya ukusanyaji data vilivyotumiwa ni tarakilishi, daftari na kalamu. Data ilichanganuliwa kimaelezo. Matokeo ya utafiti yalionyesha kuwa mitindo tofauti ya mawasiliano hutumiwa na manahodha wa kipindi kujenga mahusiano na kuvuta umakinifu wa wasikilizaji. Watafiti walibaini kuwa mitindo ya mawasiliano inayotumiwa na manahodha wa kipindi hufanikisha malengo ya kipindi chenyewe. Matokeo ya utafiti huu yanatoa changamoto kwa manahodha wa vipindi vya redio kubuni mitindo na mikakati mipya ya mawasiliano itakayowavutia wasikilizaji wa vipindi vyao na kubuni vipindi vinavyoshughulikia changamoto wanazokumbana nazo wanajamii katika maisha.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the communication styles used by the Patanisho program hosts in Patanisho program, Radio Jambo. Patanisho programme of Radio Jambo has Radio hosts who participate in radio talk shows that discuss family issues in ways that seek non-violent solutions. This study was interested in the uniqueness of the discourses that develop in Patanisho program. The researchers of this study aimed at explain how radio hosts of Patanisho programme use different communication styles to attract the speaker’s attention. This research was conducted on Radio Jambo’s YouTube channel. The research design was descriptive. The target group of the research was Patanisho programs in Radio Jambo. The study samples were purposively selected. A total of 60 episodes of Patanisho programs aired between January and April 2023 in Radio Jambo and recorded on YouTube were listened to by the researcher and 10 episodes were deliberately selected based on their themes to be examined. The data collection methods were listening and note taking. The data collection tools used were a laptop, notebooks and pens. The findings of this study poses a challenge to hosts of different radio programs to design new communication styles and strategies that will attract listeners to their programs and design programs that deal with the life challenges faced by members of the community.
