Abstract

The purpose of the study is to explore key conceptual factors shaping organisational life in the face of rapid technological change, hybrid collaboration, and global interconnectedness. Set against a background where the modern workplace demands new competencies and resilient mindsets from leaders and employees alike, this paper focuses on three interrelated themes: emerging skills, change management, and the growth mindset. Employing an interpretive literature-integration and narrative synthesis approach, the methodology draws upon historical reflections and workplace theory to examine how organisations navigate systemic transitions. The central findings illustrate how emerging competencies such as emotional intelligence and adaptability intersect with historical patterns of resistance to innovation, while conceptualising the growth mindset as the sustaining attitude that enables individuals and institutions to thrive amidst uncertainty. The study concludes that while specific skill sets evolve, the capacity to embrace change endures as the foundation of leadership effectiveness, famously capturing that skills fade, but mindsets endure. Ultimately, it recommends adopting a unified theoretical framework that integrates skills, change management, and mindset through rigorous narrative synthesis to guide future organisational strategy and leadership development.
